Chuy’s Tex- Mex

The newest restaurant soon to be open at the Town Center is the famous Chuy’s Tex-Mex. The original started in Austin, TX in 1982 and has been growing ever since. As the world turns, I was invited out to a media tasting event for pre- opening festivities and wanted to share my thoughts.

Soft openings as they are called allows the restaurant time to “work out the bugs” and from what we experienced they are well on the way to having it perfect.

Now let’s talk about the food. We started with the Appetizer Platter, so huge if fed four of us. One of everything this is sure to be a hit for those who love to share. Our next choices were equally as plentiful and tasty. A stunning Combo Plate, with Mole, held an impressive array of the best of Tex-Mex favorites, Taco, Enchiladas, Beans, Rice and fresh Salsa Fresca.  We also opted for the Steak Burrito, handmade, 12” flour tortilla stuffed with sliced grilled steak and cheese, topped with spicy Hatch Green Chile sauce. Served with green chile rice & charro beans.

Overall, we gave Chuy’s high marks for, flavor, presentation, cost, plus service we will certainly put this on our list of restaurants to revisit. Check back to see when the exact opening date will be for the newest Chuy’s located at;
