Ian Stake has given a platform for young men and women of the community to hone their musical talents.

Stake is the CEO and founder of Amplify, Inc. He started the organization in 2005; setting out to assist young musicians find their touch and develop in the early stages of their lives.

“We saw a need in the community here in Jacksonville. I personally just had a passion to see kids grow in their gifts. So, we had like-minded people come together and formed a non-profit,” Stake said.

Although Stake does not have an educational background in music, he found himself in the youth he helps by reflecting on his passion for music. He can play a variety of guitars and is in tune with computer programming, keyboards and more.

Stake believes that the earlier development begins for musical skills, the better. He has done research on how practicing and training helps musicians to be successful as well as reach personal goals and advancement.

Amplify offers programs that focuses on job readiness as well as teaching children how to develop music through computer programming in an after-school program- the Digital Music Academy.

“It helps them to become efficient with their technological skills so that they are able to become more fluent in being able to use technology. They also have to partner with their classmates for projects, which is laying a foundation for their careers,” Stake said.

Amplify helps musical artists, record, brand and distribute their art. Although the organization has a studio where artists can record their work, Stake is looking for a new location in downtown Jacksonville.

Artists affiliated with the organization produce a variety of different music genres including gospel, hip-hop, country and more.
