The Five Points of Life Race is an extension of LifeSouth’s Five Points of Life Foundation, a support affiliate of LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Five Points of Life Foundations helps raise awareness of the need for lifesaving donations of blood, aphaeresis, marrow, cord blood, organs, and tissue. The Foundation works with blood centers, organ procurement organizations, marrow registries and community organizations to educate citizens about donation.
Participating in the Five Points of Life Race encourages a healthy lifestyle. Setting a goal of running or walking a marathon is a great way to commit to a fitness plan that can make a permanent difference in someone’s health and life.
LifeSouth recently opened it’s Northeast Florida headquarters in Jacksonville, which is home to a large running community. LifeSouth is currently the sole blood provider for Baptist Medical Center Beaches, Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center Nassau, Baptist Medical Center South, Memorial Hospital, Orange Park Medical Center and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
The Five Points of Life Foundation is committed to creating a donation generation through educational materials and curriculum. In the classroom or on the track, imagine a generation so committed to donation that there is no waiting list for organs or marrow and no blood shortage. That’s our goal.
