Why do you think veteran’s make outstanding entrepreneurs?
Veterans make outstanding entrepreneurs due to the leadership and self-management skills ingrained in military service members that are undoubtedly critical cornerstones of operational success for emerging enterprises. As soldiers, we are taught to lead by example and to perform our duties proficiently. We then transfer our military values to our companies creating successful companies that conclusively stimulate the local Jacksonville economy and ultimately foster a mindset of generational wealth for veterans and their families.
How did you transition from military service to the world of business?
When I transitioned from the U.S. Army into civilian life, I deployed various military disciplines to help determine my passions and strategic business route. In the military, I learned that it’s vital to create a strategy and then execute it successfully. I utilize the same philosophies to help my clients accurately develop and shape their businesses into profit-generating enterprises. My companies Grant Global and Grant Business Solutions stays busy empowering, inspiring, and educating veteran business owners on the importance of growing and scaling their businesses in Northeast Florida’s flourishing business environment.
What inspired you to become a Vetrepreneur?
I was inspired by the soldiers that separated from the military before my exit that ventured into veteran entrepreneurship. What currently keeps me motivated is the validation of significant media publications that have featured my company such as Forbes, The Business Journals, Huffington Post, MSNBC, and many others. Recently, I have been motivated and inspired by our City and military leaders who are increasing their investment in our veterans business ecosystem. So naturally, people such as Mayor Lenny Curry, Brigadier General (ret) Michael Fleming and Bill Spann come to mind. With the high concentration of veterans in Northeast Florida we have a phenomenal opportunity. To memorialize our local Vetrepreneurs, my company will be launching our Grant Global Directory App on Andriod devices Veterans Day 2018.
