There’s a weekend of beer events brewing around Jacksonville! From a huge anniversary party to more Oktoberfest to Halloween to making your own beer, if you’re looking for some fun things to do with a beer in your hand, check out these Saturday events (10/21) around the area:
Bold City Brewery 9th Anniversary: Bold City Brewery, 2670 Rosselle St., Riverside, 1pm. Take a look at the preview story. An all-day party featuring $2 pints of Bold City beer. Tap list includes 8-10 Bold City beers. Look for all three bars to be ready and open: the indoor tap room, the brewery bar, and an outside bar. Music all-day from 1-11pm. Food by La Bodega. Congrats to Jacksonville’s first production craft brewery!
Wicked Barley Brewing WickedWeen: Wicked Barley Brewing, 4100 Baymeadows Rd., Jax; 11am. The all-day family-friendly Halloween party includes face painting and balloons for the kids at 1pm. Kids costume contest at 5pm. Adults costume contest at 9pm. No entry fee. All-day food specials. Music 6-9pm. Also featuring a special-occasion beer list with 10 beers (looks like a wickedly good list!).
Oktoberfest and 5k at European Street Market, Riverside: 2753 Park St., 11am. Be one of the first 50, and get a one-liter boot glass. Oompah band during the afternoon. Stein holding competitions. German themed foods. The Oktoberfest 5k starts at 5pm and includes a free beer afterwards. Register for the 5k here.
Oktoberfest Five Points: 1035 Park St., noon. German-themed block party in Five Points. German beer and Oktoberfest games. No entry fee. Purchase an Oktoberfest boot and beer fill for $15.
Haunted Brewery at Anheuser-Busch: Zombie Hunt and more in the brewery, 5-11pm. Friday and Saturday nights with special events through October. Obtain free admission on Friday night and help the Desert Storm War Memorial Fund by downloading a free general admission ticket at thehauntedbrewery.com with promo code DSWM. There are 1000 tickets available, and Buzz Media Group will donate $2 to the Fund for each ticket sold. Bike night Friday night, with special parking for motorcycles. Saturday night features the CarnEVIL show with Andrew Ratliff performing magic escape tricks and side show stunts; shows every hour on the half hour beginning at 7:30pm. Wine and Beer Making Class at St. Augustine Beer Brewing Solutions: 215 W. King St., St. Augustine. Wine making class at 11:30am; beer brewing class, 1-4pm. Includes supplies. Class cost only $10. Register ahead of time by calling the shop, 904-814-1514.
