Hi, and welcome to another segment of Industry Champions, where we interview the best and the brightest leading the industry of tomorrow. This is your host, Olivia Rouse, and I’m so excited to be joined by Dominic Jacobellis with JaxCruise. Welcome to the show.

Thank you.
Olivia:
Absolutely. I’m so excited. I mean, we’ve been having so much fun just talking off screen. But I want to ask, what’s been bringing you joy in your work?
Dominic:
What brings me joy?Having people come out on the vessel, and they initially start in their shell. And then they slowly kind of test the water and they come out of their shell and they dance, and they laugh, and they connect and they bond in a beautiful environment.
It does bring me joy.
Olivia:
I love that I mean, there’s there’s so much to be said about watching people just end up loosening up and realizing they can relax and enjoy themselves and and form connections. And in a world where there’s so much happening online. It’s like, let’s get back to just being outside and enjoying nature and then also having this great opportunity to be outside.
Yeah. So with that said, tell me a little bit about Jax Cruise. You guys do great things on boats. Tell me about it.
Dominic:
We do. We’ve run out of Saint Augustine and, Ponte Vedra and Jack’s Beach. We run up the beautiful intercoastal ways. We visit, the North Florida Keys and Guana, park. And, just places you can’t drive to in Jacksonville.
And I think a lot of people don’t realize how much beauty on the water is really here.
Olivia:
That’s amazing. I mean, most people don’t. And honestly, when it takes you 45 minutes to drive anywhere, you’re not going. But if you could spend all that time appreciating a back in route and then meeting with cool people and enjoying it with you said music and food on these cruises and yeah, you get the whole thing.
Dominic:
Oh yeah. Oh my gosh.
Olivia:
So tell me. I mean, I haven’t experienced this yet, but what is the first thing I should expect when I book and come join you guys on Jax Cruise?
Dominic:
The first thing to expect is just to come out without any expectations. I love that. Oh, forget what you know. Yeah. Just come out. Yeah, just come out because a lot of people are a little iffy.
And then when they get out, they have a great time. We, we, we really interact and, try to keep it fresh and new, and, we don’t guarantee dolphins or wildlife because obviously we can’t, but, we always see it. It’s always a part of it, you know, just be out with your friends and the environment when dolphins and birds are coming through.
Olivia:
It’s it’s nice. I mean, it just it takes you back to just, like, the most grounding moments of we’re just out here in creation.
Dominic:
Watch the sunset.
Olivia:
Yeah, I love that. So tell me a little bit about the events that can happen. I mean, you guys have boat cruises and then other events can be hosted on this. How does that work?
Dominic:
Yeah. Yeah. So we have a bunch of public events. We have we did like, Nights of Lights through Christmas and, we’re doing haunted history boat tours in Saint Augustine. And those are some public events. And then we run public, sunset stuff out of Palm Valley outdoors. And, but, the private stuff, it’s really a great platform for anyone who wants to connect with a group of people in any capacity, to just do it in a different experience.
Olivia:
We’ve all experienced the bar in the restaurant so many times in our life. So to just get out and do it in nature, it just changes the experience, takes it to the next level. 1,000%. I love that. So tell me. You mentioned you have that new cruise, the haunted history coming up. I mean, what other things are is coming up.
Dominic:
And you guys, this world that we need to know about, just a lot of, musicians we really want to showcase, it’s going to be called sound wave sessions. And we want to do, like, live music, on the water at, like, Fort George in the island. And you’re surrounded by nothing. By nature.
There’s no buildings, there’s no, streets. There’s no cars. It’s just nature.
Olivia:
And, to experience that, it really makes you feel like you’re alive in the moment. Not stressed about the future or stressed about the past, but just living. I love that it brings us back to our presence.
Dominic:
Yes, yes. Bring us to the present and allow us to connect.
Olivia:
