“On A Mission” showcases leaders who are going the extra mile each and every day. Each of the people we interview is on a mission to serve, inspire and educate. Our hosts highlight their impact and explore what motivates, engages and fulfills individuals and teams to be more productive, more effective, better at what they do, and happier to do it. Today, our hosts, Della Sellers and Morgan Allen, spoke with Tiffany Bannworth.

Short company description:
Bannworth Museums, Academies, and Universities is a global educational initiative dedicated to experiential learning through archaeology, science, classical education, and cultural exploration. Founded by Dr. Tiffany Bannworth, the organization integrates museums, schools, research projects, and global academic partnerships to give students hands-on learning opportunities—from fossil digs and archaeological research to classical scholarship and international collaborations. Our mission is to cultivate curious, courageous learners who see the world as an adventure in discovery.
What inspires you to keep growing and learning as a leader?
The world itself inspires me. Archaeology, science, history, and culture are constantly revealing new discoveries, and I believe leaders in education should remain students themselves. I regularly collaborate with scholars, archaeologists, and researchers around the world, and those conversations continually expand my perspective. Growth also comes from the responsibility of leading students—when you are shaping the next generation, you cannot stop learning.
What impact do you hope to leave on your organization or industry?
I hope to redefine what education can look like. Too often learning is confined to textbooks and standardized systems. I want to show that education can be immersive, adventurous, and globally connected. Through Bannworth Museums, Academies, and Universities, I want to create a model where students participate in real research, travel to historical sites, collaborate with experts, and build knowledge through experience. If we can inspire other schools and institutions to adopt more experiential learning, then we’ve made a meaningful impact.
Who do you admire in the industry and why?
I admire individuals who combine scholarship with exploration. People like archaeologists, scientists, and historians who dedicate their lives to uncovering the past and expanding human knowledge. Their work reminds us that discovery requires curiosity, courage, and perseverance. I’m also deeply inspired by educators who challenge traditional models and create new pathways for students. Education should not simply transfer information—it should awaken wonder and empower young people to pursue knowledge boldly.
