The mission of Rehabilitate Children & Youth Ethiopia Inc (RCYE) is to help lift up children and youth from abject poverty. It has chosen pilot area in southwestern Ethiopia, in the Wolayitta region. RCYE believes that working in collaboration with the local government, church establishments, and community leaders is a pillar in addressing poverty issues and contribute to social development in the area. The organization has been legally established in the United States according to federal and state laws. As Ethiopia has been in a vicious civil war for the last two years, the consequent political turmoil has accentuated poverty levels, hitting children and youth particularly hard. RCYE firmly believes that saving the lives of children and youth is a moral obligation and requires sharing a limited resource, be it on individual, collective, or corporate levels.
