What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?
Brands believing what worked six months ago will work tomorrow. Even without the pandemic, the curve and hype-circle are so short that we need to move faster, and often will also need to put more effort in for the same return.
The understanding (hopefully) that we need to look at consumers from a psychographic perspective, not just demographic.
What is your favorite advertising campaign that you have created for a client or participated in?
We have two.
– Award-winning (won us a Bulldog Reporter award, and the client 6+ industry awards) for the SPY Ace EC snow goggle, scooping Oakley and landing global media at the same time.
– JLab’s recent CES launches, where we helped put them in front of a massive audience with products (under $99) most wouldn’t think would come out ahead during an event where high-tech robots and iPhone contact lenses dominate.
How does your marketing strategy change from working with a local advertising client to a national advertising client?
When it comes to PR, it’s the right eyeballs, not the most eyeballs. A weekly newspaper has value, as does a kid with 5,000 followers. It comes down to who is reading the media, not its footprint.
