The Florida Ballet celebrates its 40th Anniversary with a special performance on Aug. 11. The program will feature the return of Florida Ballet alumni and current pre-professional students dancing original works and a revival repertoire from the organization’s four decades of dance. Choreographed pieces by the organization’s founder Laurie Picinich Byrd will be featured, as well as, Florida Ballet alumni James Kinney, Savery Morgan, Denise Richards, Davis Robertson and Curtis Williams.
Some of the evening’s featured dancers include, David Schrenk, recent Bronze medalist in the Senior Men’s Division of the 2018 USA International Ballet Competition and current Company member of Texas Ballet Theater, Blake Kessler, 2012 Grand Prix Gold medalist in the Junior Men’s Division at Lincoln Center and San Francisco Ballet Company Corps de Ballet member, 2016-2018, Landry Ridener, current second Company member Washington Ballet, Andre Gallon current Corps de Ballet member at Orlando Ballet, Catie McGregor, studio Company member, Colorado Ballet and Grace Umberger, Graduate program trainee, Pittsburgh Ballet.
Special performances by returning Florida Ballet graduates Amanda Gary Baillie, Olivia Barcia, Jennifer Black, Annemarie Echols, Rebecca Hardin, Samuel Johnson, Lidinia Mena-Smith, Savery Morgan, Kathy Ramirez, Elyse Runac, Ryan Stroble, Jessica Scangarello, Jessica This and Curtis Williams will also be part of this very special evening.
