“Ask the Doc” with Dr. Jasmine Reed from Ubuntu Psychological Services

Each week on “Ask the Doc,” our host Jennifer Filzen sits down with health professionals from all across the country and asks them the important questions about health and the healthcare industry. Today, Jennifer had the honor to sit down with Dr. Jasmine Reed from Ubuntu Psychological Services.

Ubuntu is a Southern African term in which the shared meaning is described as “connectedness that exists” or “should exist between people.” Outside of the continent of Africa, Ubuntu is known as a humanist ideology, with concepts such as behaving well towards others or acting in ways that benefit the community being alternative meanings to Ubuntu.

Ubuntu Psychological Services embodies the African way of life by creating mutual care, justice, connection, empathy, and community for every individual who receives services from the company. Their mission is to provide useful and culturally competent services while delivering human kindness to the communities they serve.
