Short company description:
Auld and White – Local GC in Jacksonville. Building High quality commercial buildings and invested in our community / NEFBA – Apprenticeship for trades in Jacksonville. Helping hundreds of students per year excel in their craft and find lasting opportunities.

What makes your company unique?:
Auld and White – We are a local contractor dedicated to the improvement of our craft personnel and offers to our clients a building experience that is as sophisticated as larger national GCs but small enough to give a personal feel and commitment that only a local GC can offer

NEFBA – Offered continued education and apprenticeship programs to the community of local builders. Ensure local community members that enter the program can find opportunity and continued education to ensure their success.
How do you define success?: Success is the ability to set goals for yourself and accomplish them while holding yourself to a higher standard to inspire others to do the same.

What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?: Teaching at NEFBA both
apprenticeship and OSHA outreach programs directly involves me with the community of tradespeople in the community. Empowering them with the knowledge and motivation to succeed in their own paths.

Who inspires you and why?: This Calvin Coolidge quote was engraved on a small sculpture of a figure scaling a mountainside. I feel for those in construction it is the most relevant, because our days are usually long, hard and full of danger. I want to train the next generation with not only knowledge of the trades but persistence to reach their own goals;

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

Brief description of what would you like to discuss on the show: The unique opportunities both Auld and White and NEFBA offer the community in training and experience for growing craftspeople in our community.
