“Making a Difference” with Andres Vega from Maderra

Each week on “Making a Difference,” our host, Wayne Veldsman, interviews people making a difference in their community. Today, Wayne had the pleasure of talking with Andres Vega from Maderra.

Maderra is based in Salt Lake City Utah. They make and manufacture hidden bookshelf doors and shipped them across the country.

How did you get started in your field or work?: I have done a number of ventures throughout my life. Most have dealt with helping people. Maderra is a means to the end of helping people through our humanitarian work we have engaged across the globe.

How does your company inspire others?: I think the inspiring part of of Maderra is how it got started. I started as a one man operation from my parents garage and it grew to being a leading company in the manufacturing of hidden bookshelf doors. As I look back and see that a poor boy from Chile would really embark on the America dream which is not to build a monetary empires but to learn to work hard and to serve those in our community and help in any way that we can.

What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months for your business?: Our goal is to continue to grow and take our company to Europe given that we are being ask to take our product by the consumers to those part of the world
