What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

I’m excited and interested to see if they start to get smarter about TV advertising, while netflix is taking over the TV format for advertising is one that I feel still works even with the very limited targeting it has  – TVs have all the technology now to dynamically show ads highly targeted to the household yet they are still using archaic technology to deliver these ads. TV streaming apps have poor UX and is still easier to just flick through TV channels.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to digital marketing?

Think like the customer, how would you like to be marketed towards, be human in your interactions. We are all people too even for B2B sales, humor and creativity goes along way to impress fellow marketers. For example Mailchimp did this exceptionally.

What is something in your career that you learned from by making a mistake?

Once you send the wrong email, to the wrong person, with something that really shouldn’t have been sent, you learn to double and triple check everything before hitting that send button. Never popular the To: field until the last step. Re-read it twice and make sure it’s going to the right person, and never leave it up to the auto population for sending emails. I discovered the team@ email address for an ex-workplace had not locked it down from external sources, and I was the person who discovered this, really not a great way to say hi to all your ex-colleagues.
