About Us: R.A.M. Investigations was formed by Rick Martinez in 2020. Rick recognized the need for quality investigations in established areas of the insurance industry, as well as the need for investigative expertise in the burgeoning area of drone liability investigations, which inspired him to start his agency. Rick has a fulfilled career as a Military Police Investigator with the U. S. Army, a decorated member of law enforcement with the Orange County California Sheriff’s Department, and the Fountain Valley Police Department. He served as a patrol and field training officer, a traffic homicide investigator, SWAT and Hostage Negotiations Team member, and white-collar crimes detective. Rick holds a commercial helicopter pilots rating, has an FAA Part 107 drone operator’s certification, and was a team lead member in establishing a large insurance company’s drone program. In the mid 1990s Rick worked for a major helicopter manufacturer as a legal investigator who reviewed and assessed NTSB accident reports, located and interviewed witnesses, and assisted in-house counsel in product liability defense. During this time he was also co-chair of the Safety and Education Committee for the Professional Helicopter Pilots Association (PHPA) of Southern California. Combined with more than 25 years of investigating suspected fraudulent insurance claims with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) at several major insurance companies, in positions ranging from SIU investigator, trainer, and SIU manager, Rick has earned and achieved mastery in conducting a variety of investigations. This proficiency makes for the cornerstone from which R.A.M. Investigations was established.
