Short company description:
First I am a mom of a wonderful and special young man, Jacob. He has changed my life in so many ways. Jacob has a chromosomal abnormality which has placed him on the Autism Spectrum.
What Is Your Why (Why Are You In Business)?
Teaching children about patience, understanding, and acceptance of kids with different abilities. I took a challenge in Jacob’s life and brought out a positive outcome to help others understand and hopefully bring out compassion for those kids who want to be just like them.
How did you get started in your field or work?
I decided I wanted to help others by writing my children’s books about living in Jacob’s world.
What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months for your business?
1) I would like to begin writing a book about Jacob and our journey together.
2) I would like to be invited to more speaking engagements.
3) I would like to write another book in my children’s book series.
Who do you know that is impacted by Autism and how has that impacted you?
First, my son, Jacob, he has taught me a great deal about the day to day activities and emotions that others take for granted. We both learned new ways to manage life.
I have a few friends who have children on the Spectrum and not one is the same, each has their own challenges, but I admire their dedication and love for their children. I believe every day is a learning experience.
