Short Company Description:
When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children and Families Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCF staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement.

What makes your company unique?: Our organization has a way for everyone of all ages to get involved in foster care. Not everyone is able to be a foster parent, but with this home, everyone is able to be a part of lessening the trauma for a child on one of their hardest days!

How do you define success?: When we know we are doing everything we can to bring love and hope to what seems to be a hopeless situation, and when a child feels loved and not forgotten.

What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?: Through loving children awaiting foster care placement and serving the workers who work to keep these children safe, along with the families taking the children in; helping to supply immediate needs they have.
