“Jacksonville Buzz” with the Ronan School of Music

Each week on “Jacksonville Buzz,” our hosts sit down with some of the brightest and most entertaining guests you can find on the First Coast to discuss what’s buzzing in the Bold City. Today, Adrienne talks with Ashley White and Darren Ronan from the Ronan School of Music.

The Ronan School of Music provides professional music education to the casual enthusiast or the serious student. Their goal is to help the student achieve greater enjoyment from music through listening and playing.

Short Company Description: We provide private, one-on-one music instruction. Each lesson is tailored to the needs of our students. Whether your goal is to strum a few chords on the guitar or gain entrance into an arts school, we can help you.

Give a brief description on what you would like to discuss on the show.: Our history, how we serve the community and how, in non-Covid times, we like to use our space as a community center.

What makes your company unique?: We offer performing opportunities for our students all throught the year, not just once or twice a year in a traditional recital setting. We keep a small stock of loaner instruments available for students whose families may not be in a position to purchase an instrument right away. Also, we recently became certified to accept the Gardiner scholarship allowing us to help those in our community who need a little extra assistance.

How do you define success?: When our former students find their way back to us just keep in touch and let us know they still think about their time with us even if they no longer play an instrument

What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?: By providing music for non-profit and fundraising events
