Short company description:

“The Mom Kind” is a company dedicated to providing support, resources, and guidance for parents who have children on the autism spectrum. With a focus on autism parenting, their website, www.themomkind.com, offers a wealth of information, articles, and personal stories aimed at empowering parents and helping them navigate the unique challenges of raising a child with autism. The Mom Kind strives to create a community where parents can connect, share experiences, and access valuable tools and strategies to enhance their parenting journey. By offering insights, practical advice, and a sense of solidarity, The Mom Kind is committed to promoting understanding, acceptance, and empowerment for families affected by autism.

What Is Your Why (Why Are You In Business)?

The Mom Kind was born out of a profound need to address the lack of support available to parents raising multiple children with autism. Upon receiving autism diagnoses for three of her children, Alicia Trautwein discovered a scarcity of online resources that specifically catered to parenting multiple children on the spectrum. Existing information either came from a clinical perspective or focused solely on those with a single neurodiverse child. Determined to bridge this gap, Trautwein embarked on a journey of sharing her own story and providing valuable resources online, offering the support she had once sought herself. The ultimate mission of The Mom Kind is to enhance the well-being of both parents and children by equipping them with essential tools and fostering a supportive network that guides them through the intricacies of the autism parenting experience.

How did you get started in your field or work?

Our start into this field was when our children were diagnosed autistic.

What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?

The Mom Kind is unique because not only are three of our children autistic, I am as well.

What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months for your business?

Our biggest goal for this year is to launch an online course for parents of autistic children and a neurodiverse selfcare course.

Who do you know that is impacted by Autism and how has that impacted you?

Not only are my three children autistic, my brother and I are also autistic. While these are the only diagnosed family members, we recognize autistic traits in several loved ones who have passed.
