Short Company Description: Florida’s Finest Tutors is a premier private tutoring firm based out of Jacksonville, FL. Our team is comprised of experienced, passionate tutors working in a diverse range of career fields. Utilizing our educational and professional experiences, we appeal to the intrinsic motivating factors within each and every student to not only improve academic performance, but also bring the joy of learning back to our students. Started before the 2020 school year in response to the education crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our firm has helped students overcome the gaps created by distance learning and regain confidence in their intellectual abilities. On average, our grade recovery students -students with a grade 75% or lower in a course – see ten percent grade improvements within the first 9 weeks working with us. Additionally, our SAT preparation has helped students earn an average score of 1320 on the two-part exam. This places our average student in the top ten percent nationally, and almost 250 points above national average.

What makes your company unique?: Our company’s dedication to motivating students intrinsically is what sets us apart. In experience with previous tutoring firms, I saw many instances of tutors attempting to encourage their students through offering rewards or prizes for good performance. While this may help in the short-term, it hinders the student from developing the internal motivation to grow a desire to want to do well on their own. Our firm is dedicated to using each student’s goals and dreams and connecting them with the material to drive better performance and disposition. Additionally, through company policies designed to limit the maximum number of students a single tutor can take on in a week, we have been able to ensure the utmost individual attention and dedication to each student’s success.

How do you define success?: We define success as not only helping students improve their grades, but also as helping them become more confident, happier learners.

What’s your favorite way to get involved in the community?: I have always personally enjoyed helping the less fortunate through food-sharing ministries. Additionally, I also spent numerous summers visiting Costa Rica throughout my schooling years building houses for families in need.

What is your biggest marketing challenge in your business: The biggest struggle in marketing for my business is that tutoring is an extremely trust-based industry. Therefore, as a relatively new firm, generating new clients through typical advertising means is not as effective. Up until this point, the vast majority of our clients have been generated through word-of-mouth recommendations from parent to parent.
