What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

Customer retention and formats. With privacy becoming a major trend, and media companies drafting their roadmap, I expect digital/online marketing to become fairly more expensive.


What is the advantage to working with an outside media buyer as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?

It depends. I have had multiple profiles and been serviced in both ways. I believe that depending on the nature of the business, the approach can make a difference. For example, bigger brands always make good use of third parties. But smaller brands, or those brands in rapid growth make more use of having internal teams that can understand the business, its dynamics and take advantage of situations related to advertising/media.


What is one tip that you would give when it comes to media planning?

Talk to your finance team, make sure you can have solid metrics, forecast to help growth and always ACT FAST!


How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?

Keeping up with the news, checking out demos and doing platform trials.
