What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?
I see people, especially businesses, struggle to make VR and AR relevant to their industry.
Are their any trade organizations or groups that you belong to?
Nothing official. I’m a certified partner with Keap and have been since 2008; with a stint as an employee from ’11 to ’16. I’m in a lot of groups on social media.
What is the advantage to working with an outside media buyer as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?
I am not sure there is an advantage. If the internal marketing director is not competent to execute, I guess there is the advantage. But even then, if a director doesn’t understand and is working with a media buyer, they can be taken advantage of.
What is one tip that you would give when it comes to media planning?
Always remember OAC: Objective, Audience, Creative
How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?
Always be testing with new advertising channels when they crop up. Even if they only have a short ride, it may be a new pond for your target customer.
