What is the biggest change in marketing that you see coming in the next 2 years?

What is the advantage to working with an outside media buyer as opposed to having just an internal marketing director?

Anytime you work with an outside media buyer, there’s an opportunity to have an unbiased approach. You can check if your messaging is clear and impactful by seeing how it’s interpreted by someone who was not part of the creation process.


What is one tip that you would give when it comes to media planning?

Know what you “want” to say (messaging) before attempting to figure out “how” to say it (marketing).


How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?

Have an ear to what’s going on in your industry and curate your own list of tastemakers. Trends are relative to the value that is placed within one’s sphere of influence. What’s trendy HipHop may not be trendy in Gospel, yet. However, subscribing to a variety of well-versed blogs and newsletters can allow you to see what trend can transfer from one genre to another.
